Female Traction Alopecia Treatment

Traction Alopecia is a form of gradual hair loss caused by repeated tension on the hair and scalp — most commonly from tight braiding, weaves, wigs, ponytails, and other tension-based hairstyles. It particularly affects the frontal hairline and temple regions, leading to thinning, breakage, or complete loss of hair in those areas.

At DEE SMP, we offer custom scalp micropigmentation treatments that recreate a natural-looking hairline, restore visual density, and help our clients feel confident without having to rely on hairstyles or headwear to conceal affected areas.

This treatment is especially beneficial for:

Women experiencing hairline recession from long-term styling practices

Clients with visible scalp exposure around the temples, edges, or frontal zone

Those looking for a non-surgical solution to restore fullness and balance to the hairline

Each client is assessed on a case-by-case basis, with treatment plans developed based on the size of the area affected and the degree of hair loss visible in submitted photos.

Procedure details:

Most traction alopecia treatments focus on the frontal and temporal regions, but may extend to the top or full scalp if necessary

Treatment is typically completed over 3 to 4 sessions, each up to 4 hours depending on the surface area and skin response.

SMP impressions are placed with precision between any remaining hair follicles to build out density and create the illusion of a healthy, consistent hairline

Our approach ensures results that look soft, realistic, and completely natural — giving clients the freedom to wear any hairstyle they choose, without worrying about exposed areas or uneven hair growth.
